Because of dangerous people who would damage vital trust in this content sponsorship business we were financially affected by the scam perpetrated

Following a scam we suffered (the third time) in the content sponsorship business, we drafted a formal complaint holding Bird Marketing responsible.

As a result of this public denouncement, which we made to protect our interests, we received a response from Bird Marketing’s headquarters.

After an exchange of emails where each party presented their viewpoints and supporting documentation, we concluded, with complete satisfaction, that Bird Marketing was indeed taken advantage of and also a victim of this scam.

Bird Marketing’s good name and reputation were damaged, and we were financially affected by the scam perpetrated by those who identified themselves as Backlinks Providing Agency ([email protected]).

Below, we reproduce the final email sent by Bird Marketing, which explains and excuses them, to our complete satisfaction, for this unpleasant situation for both parties.

The Bird Marketing email

Dear Pedro,

Thank you for forwarding the correspondence. I have now reviewed the full email chain carefully.

Based on the evidence provided, we can confirm the following unequivocally:

  • Bird Marketing has never engaged your organisation for paid content, guest posts, backlinks, or advertorial placements.
  • No individual using a @bird.marketing or @bird.co.uk email address appears anywhere in the correspondence.
  • The party you were communicating with, “Backlinks Providing Agency” using [email protected], is not affiliated with Bird Marketing in any capacity, nor authorised to represent us, contract on our behalf, or request invoices in our name.
  • The inclusion of our company name and address in their billing details was done unilaterally by that third party and does not constitute a relationship, mandate, or agreement with Bird Marketing.

This is therefore a clear case of third-party impersonation.

In addition, the messages threatening to publish damaging articles unless payment was made constitute coercive behaviour, and the subsequent publication of articles accusing Bird Marketing of non-payment is factually incorrect and reputationally harmful.

Now that you are in possession of this information, we formally request the following:

  1. Immediate removal of the published articles referencing Bird Marketing
  2. Written confirmation that your organisation acknowledges that Bird Marketing was not the contracting party
  3. Confirmation that no further content alleging wrongdoing by Bird Marketing will be published in relation to this matter

We appreciate that your organisation may also have been misled by this third party. However, continuing to publish or retain content alleging misconduct by Bird Marketing, now that impersonation has been established, would be unjustified.

We trust this can be resolved promptly and amicably. Please confirm removal of the articles at your earliest convenience.

Best regards,

Jason

Thank you Jason
