Sancionados trece funcionarios venezolanos por EE.UU en nueva lista

Sancionados: Tibisay Lucena, Elias Jaua, Nestor Reverol, Tarek William Saab, Iris Valera, Carlos Pérez Ampueda (PNB), Sergio Rivero (PNB), Jesús Suárez (PNB), Franklin García (PNB), Rocco Albissini (presidente del Centro de Comercio Exterior), Alejandro Fleming (Cancillería), Simón Zerpa (PDVSA) y Carlos Malpica (PDVSA)

Las sanciones apuntan funcionarios actuales o pasados “asociados con las elecciones o por quebrantar la democracia, así como la violencia generalizada contra manifestantes de la oposición y corrupción”, señaló el Tesoro como supuestas razones para proceder contra los sancionados.

Jaua y Lucena fueron incluidos en la lista por movilizarse “activamente” en apoyo de la Asamblea Constituyente convocada por el presidente Nicolás Maduro y por “minar la democracia y los derechos humanos en Venezuela”.

Por esa misma razón fueron sancionados Tarek William Saab, Defensor del Pueblo, e Iris Varela, miembro de la comisión presidencial preparatoria de la Asamblea Constituyente.

Simultáneamente, en una teleconferencia un funcionario del Tesoro envió un claro alerta: “quien decida sumarse a la Asamblea Constituyente estará minando las instituciones y quedará expuestos a ser sancionados  por las autoridades estadounidenses”.

Cinco otras personas fueron sancionadas por su relación con actos de represión y violencia.

Son Néstor Reverol (Ministro de Interior y Justicia), Carlos Pérez Ampueda (Director da Policía Nacional Bolivariana, PNB), Sergio Rivero (comandante general de la PNB), Jesús Suárez (Comandante de la PNB) y Franklin García (ex director de la PNB).

Finalmente, otras cuatro personas fueron incluidas en el paquete de sanciones por actos de corrupción.

En este grupo de sancionados también están Rocco Albissini (presidente del Centro de Comercio Exterior), Alejandro Fleming (viceministro de la cancillería para Europa), Simón Zerpa (vicepresidente financiero de la estatal PDVSA) y Carlos Malpica (ex tesorero de PDVSA).

Eventuales activos que estas personas posean en Estados Unidos resultarán congelados por el Tesoro. Además, estas personas quedan ahora prohibidos de realizar acuerdos comerciales con ciudadanos estadounidenses.
